Let the Impeachment Proceedings Begin

 

I think it is time for the impeachment proceedings to begin anytime now. Not only for the commander in chief, but for every member of congress and senate that have supported any kind spending bill with the exception of the defense of the country. This President and the entire congress have known since they were elected that we had a spending problem and they have continued to spend and have done absolutely nothing to curb their addiction. As a matter of fact the President as soon as he took office spent a ton of money in the with his “Stimulus Package” which is one of the largest failures in history of this country, only rivaled by George W Bush stimulus package.

This debt ceiling crisis should have never happened, this President and congress has been in office almost three years and they have done nothing to avoid the position we are in today and therefore they should be charged with dereliction of duty and impeached, removed from office and arguably some of them should face criminal charges. What I really want to know is “Who did they think exactly was going to fix this if they did not fix it?” Did they think a little budget fairy was going to come in and magically make this go away? Hell Obama even appointed a committee that told him what needed to be done and he completely ignored what they said. By the way how much were they paid? For Obama ignoring his own committee for such an important cause is reason enough for impeachment as far as I am concerned, but let’s not stop there, there are too many deadbeats sitting in Washington nursing off the taxpayers so we should shed all dead weight while we are at it. We have a rule of law but apparently it only applies to people not in the Whitehouse or Congress. I do not know about anyone else but I am really fed up with the people in Congress living large, Pelosi flying around in her private jet like she is royalty while she was speaker, all on taxpayer dollars. When a member of Congress has to resign in disgrace, (Weiner, Wu) they should not be entitled to any of the benefits after they leave office, they were a disgrace, sorry but they should no longer be entitled to the taxpayer dollars as they have betrayed the public’s trust. We will never get our fiscal problems solved by continuing to give away taxpayer dollars, this country does not have a taxation problem, we have a spending epidemic and there is only one cure for this problem, reform the compensation package for those in Congress and make them completely accountable for their actions as well.

So you want to be President!

 

What would it take to win the Presidency of the United States of America today? What would your platform have to be? Is there anyone out there that has what it takes to take the most powerful job out there, perform the duties, and be successful?

The most difficult of the questions I have posed is: “Is there anyone out there that has what it takes to take the most powerful job out there, perform the duties, and be successful” so I will tackle that one last and after you see my thoughts to the other questions the answer to this one may become a bit clearer but we may still be lacking an answer.

What would it take to win the Presidency of the United States of America? (To make this easier to write I will do this in the first person or as if I was running for President). I will not be beholden to special interests groups (where have we heard that in a campaign before?) so that there is no influence on policy that is right and needed. Obviously the most crucial issue facing this nation currently is the economy and debt. First off the realization of improving one will improve the other is a basic step that the current administration just seems to trip over every day. Therefore we have to implement a “Fair and Free Trade Policy” with nations that want to trade with us under the term “Fair” and my definition of “Fair” is 50/50, not 60/40 or 70/30 in their favor but a true 50/50 “Fair and Free Trade Policy”. I believe the goods produced here in the USA are as good as anywhere in the world today, and I want to show off to the world how good we actually are.

Now comes the dirty work, our economy is strongly influenced by the price of fossil fuels and right now there are no other alternatives no matter how much money we throw at this issue. That being said, we cannot have any company or country hold an axe over the head of our economy. Sorry Middle East countries but that means you. The USA will no longer be buying oil for $100 per barrel, we will no longer be buying oil for $50 per barrel, we will be opening up all oil extraction operations everywhere in the continental USA, Alaska and Gulf of Mexico, and on top of that we are offering research grants for shale extraction technology. Do you guys have any idea how much shale oil we have? For these companies that take advantage of these free leases on oil extraction land, they will agree that they will supply oil to the USA at $40.00 per barrel, and also offer it to allies of the USA, (Great Britain, Israel, Japan, and South Korea) after that they can offer oil on the free market to other countries at whatever the free market will bear. Environmentalist groups, you are free to move about in another country, not saying we are going to be careless with our environment, we are going to be responsible and accountable. By the way, all you Middle East countries, and Mexico, going back to that “Fair Free Trade Policy” if you cannot grow food in your desert, or for you Mexico, if you are so stoned and have the munchies and eat all your food, we will again trade you dollar for dollar, food for oil as long as we are paying the $40.00 per barrel. I think I failed to mention also that we no longer recognize OPEC or the UN as legitimate organizations, as a matter of fact we have evicted the UN from NYC and they must relocate somewhere other than US soil, we have sold your building and used the money to pay down our debt, see ya! Also if any OPEC officers are found in the USA you will be arrested immediately on charges of running a monopoly and charged accordingly, sorry if I left that little bit of information out.

Now for China, my dearest China, Mr. Bush and Mr. Obama tried to sell our country to you and now I have to take it all back, you see there is a new Sheriff in town, have you seen the movie “Walking Tall” the original version? May I suggest you take a look, because that is how things are going to be. We will not renege on our debt, but make no mistake about it, if you want your money it will be on our terms not yours. Obviously we will not be taking any more of your money and we will be paying everything back with interest quicker than what Mr. Obama said and I will be looking for a interest rebate otherwise we will cut off all trade with your nation since I can get anything you have from Japan or South Korea and they are better allies of ours anyways with less human rights violations than you. Sorry, just saying, we cool?

Now how about the National Security issue? First, let us secure our borders, then second, make sure we have done number one correctly? (Are the tanks on the way to the Mexican border if not please see that they get there by sunset) If you are currently in this country illegally I suggest you let us know now. Make no mistake about it sooner or later my agents will catch you and you will be sent back home, if you own anything or have any assets, that will cover your trip back to where you came from and you will never be allowed back in because you already have committed a crime in this country. If you come to us voluntarily and we can do a background search on you and find you have no criminal record from your native country we will work out a temporary work visa for you with defined limits and tax information, and no you are not qualified for any of the benefits that our citizens receive. If we cannot verify no criminal record you will go back to your country of origin, sorry, should have followed the legal steps of entering our country in the beginning. I believe the greatest source of information we can gather for National Security will come from the CIA and FBI, these organizations need funding for the most modern equipment and most able bodies. Again, we need to be responsible, accountable and must always verify information as best as we can.

Like the current President I would go on an apology tour, I would apologize to the people of this country for having to tolerate this current President for the past four years, but don’t look back, because it is all about the future. I would apologize to the families of US soldiers that have been injured or killed in the line of duty, that is never our goal, we try to avoid this at all costs, and we owe your family a debt we can never repay for the sacrifice you have made for the rest of the country. When sick people commit acts of war like on 9/11 we must respond, and we will, and we will continue to use the modern air attacks that minimize our exposure but unfortunately there will be times where we will have to put our soldiers in harm’s way but we will always try to keep these to a minimum.

Can you imagine a candidate with that kind of platform? He would have my vote. Unfortunately the candidates today are so worried about offending someone they will never be that decisive. I did this kind of tongue in cheek but also it is what I would like to hear from someone. We must take back our country!

Where is our line in the Sand?

 

Imagine this: You have a nice house in the country with 2,000 lineal feet of Road frontage; you have a neighbor on the right and a neighbor on the left. Both you and your neighbor on the right take better care of your properties than the neighbor on the left. One night the neighbor on the left decides that every morning at 2am he is going to start moving his fence over 6 inches on to your property. At first it is so minute there is nothing noticed, but one day after about 6 months have passed you notice that some of your trees and belongings are now on the other side of the fence where your neighbor to the left lives. Can you imagine something like this happening? Unless you live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere this is exactly what has been happening over the past couple of years. The elected officials from local, state and federal governments have mismanaged the public’s business so bad they are stealing from the people in order to dig themselves out of this hole they have spent themselves into. The problem is that the current people do not have enough money to bail this government out so they are stealing from future generations in an effort to bail us out. Eventually there would be a light at the end of the tunnel except that the federal government continues to spend beyond that ability of the people to repay; therefore our country continues to go deeper and deeper in debt. So I ask again: Where is the line in the sand? When do we start throwing these so called politicians out of office? When do we elect responsible people that are more concerned with the vision of the original framers and authors of the constitution than their egos and their ability to stay in office? I cannot help thinking back to the words attributed to Horatio Bunce from his conversation with Colonel Crockett, [1]“The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be entrusted to man, particularly under our system of collecting revenue by a tariff, which reaches every man in the country, no matter how poor he may be, and the poorer he is the more he pays in proportion to his means. What is worse, it presses upon him without his knowledge where the weight centers, for there is not a man in the United States who can ever guess how much he pays to the Government. So you see that while you are contributing to relieve one, you are drawing it from thousands who are even worse off than he. If you had the right to give anything, the amount was simply a matter of discretion with you, and you had as much right to give $20,000,000 as $20,000. If you have the right: to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and, as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive, what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other.” I purposely used bold font on “a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism” because I want to remind everyone of a little group called Acorn and where they get their funding. Corruption is rampant in government and continuing to get worse, so now not only do we wonder about the line in the sand, but who can shut this door? There are 435 members of congress and 100 members of senate that all have their favorite little charities. We cannot sustain the current path we are on much longer without robbing from the people and I am afraid of what may be coming next; a total confiscation of the 401K accounts privately held by the American citizens under the guise of National Security because the Social Security system is bankrupt. Are we going to continue to allow this corruption to take place in our country?

This is no longer just a disease amongst government officials it is a full blown epidemic from the lowest of city council members and county superintendents, all the way up to, and including the President of the United States. Mainstream media also shares some of the blame; they acted like a member of the campaign staff for the President of the United States during the last election and willfully disregarded anything remotely derogatory about the President.

What is the cure? Is there a cure? How can it be administered? A more telling question is; do we have the discipline to administer the cure? The answer is simple; we have no choice, there is no other option if we want to keep the United States of America a free and sovereign nation there is no other option. We must first get any candidate running for office to take an oath to close the charity door on giving of any tax dollars collected from the American people. That means the complete shut off of tax dollars to Acorn, Fannie, Freddie, AIG, GM and any of these other government pet projects. By the way, yes, welfare falls into this category, I have no problem helping those that cannot help themselves, but I categorically refuse to help those who refuse to help themselves. We the people are the ones that must draw the line in the sand for the elected officials, we the people must hold their feet to the fire otherwise we are as guilty as they are for the demise of this country. We must sound the horn for a recall election if our member betrays his duty as a member of congress or senate; otherwise it will not be long when our neighbor on the left moves his fence beyond our home and that too becomes his.

Our System has not Failed Us Our Elected Officials Have

Our system of government has been proven to work, however over the past 50 years it has been hijacked by lawyers, affluent families and academia’s that have made it nearly impossible for the everyday citizen to run successfully for office.

Does anyone remember this statement? “That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Obviously it is Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address; now let’s take a look at the current Congress. One third of Congress is made up of lawyers, since there are only approximately 1.5 million lawyers currently in the United States; I would say that attorney’s are extremely over represented in Congress. How about net worth? Currently 44% of Congress are millionaires, compared to less than one per cent of the American population. How do you think that works out for the everyday American? How do you think that these people govern and write laws? Do you think that any of them are going to pen a law that harms them? Or harms their peer industry? Get real. Since nearly half of them are millionaires, do you really believe that they know what the average American faces in their lives? How many of you have had to worry about making a mortgage payment, or car payment or wilder yet a tax payment? I am sure there is a vast majority of Americans have faced one or more of those issues in their life. I truly do not believe that very many in congress has ever even worried at all about those issues unless it is a tax payment that they try to cover up, then they just brush it off as an honest oversight. While the typical American ends up in jail for this, in our high stakes government you can get appointed treasury secretary!

As outrageous as all this seems, what is even more outrageous is that we keep electing these people over and over! Ladies and Gentlemen WE hold the power not them! It is past the time that we take back our system of government and control of our country as Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address. First and foremost if someone is an attorney the only votes they should receive is from their own family and we should try to stop that. Why do you think the rich affluent families run for office and stay in there forever? In the beginning it may have been honest enough, but their real fear is someone taking their money. So they got into government to protect what they have and if you think for one moment they do not take advantage of their office to pad what they have you got another thing coming. Honesty has left the congress years ago, they can get in front of the camera and deceive without hesitation and that is scary. Many of these people in congress are egomaniacal pompous jerks that would never even speak to any of the population if they did not need your votes. We need to wake up or one day the USA as we knew it will be gone and that day is closer than you or I may think.

The time for action is now, we have an election in less than a year from now, we need more average Americans running for office and we need the population to support them. We cannot be afraid of going after this, you do not need to be an attorney or filthy rich, or have a big name to run for office. What this country needs now more than ever are common sense people in government making common sense decisions. If the checkbook is empty you do not continue writing checks! If we are short on energy you find more and refine more. If health insurance is too expensive you do not create another government branch that will cost us more when we have no money, you create a more level playing field for companies to compete in the private sector. You do not believe that? There are well over one thousand health insurance providers in the United States, try doing a rate search for your state and you may be limited to as little as two for some states. How can there be competition with only two companies? I have done this for many states and you will be shocked. What kind of elected officials would allow for only two companies to provide health insurance for an entire State? What do you think that does to the premium? This is why Lincoln’s vision of government was so important to the success of our country it was not to be hijacked by power hungry attorneys, rich families protecting their fortune; it was for everyday people to make common sense decisions on issues that the everyday person faces. Government is not supposed to be a roadblock that gets in the way of honest people running an honest business to employ fellow Americans. It was to cultivate private industry by insuring that the private industries of the United States had an equal opportunity to market our products and services not just here in the United States but to every other country in the world. Unfortunately businesses fail, whether it is from mismanagement, poor decisions, it happens, when they do it is NOT the governments business to take money they collect from taxpayers and successful businesses and hand over to that business that has proven to be a failure, but that is what your current elected officials have done.

It is truly my belief this next election is paramount for the direction of this country. When you enter the voting booth next November keep in mind these words; “That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth” does the vote you are casting continue the destructive path we have been on or does it redirect our government in the image and vision that Abraham Lincoln had for us? May God Bless us all.

Economic Stimulus?

 

Economic Stimulus?

What is Economic Stimulus and how is it supposed to work? Apparently it depends on who is implementing the stimulus. So far the current administration defines it by taking taxpayer dollars, actually future taxpayer dollars, and giving the money to who they want to stimulate. Our President has come out and said that the economic stimulus is working and I quote; “It has already extended unemployment insurance and health insurance to those who have lost their jobs in this recession”. Who actually believes that this is a stimulus? I would have to call this a handout. If it was truly a stimulus the unemployed would have their jobs back and their job benefits would be re-established. The problem with the federal government handing economic stimulus is that they are only going to stimulate who they want to stimulate and historically speaking, it has always been a failure, costing a lot of money for little impact. As I have stated; true stimulus would be getting the unemployed employed. How do we do that? Instead of taking billions of future taxpayer dollars we could have started by suspending all corporate income taxes immediately. Secondly if we recall the economic boom in the 90’s it was largely because of the computer and telecommunications industry (private industry) resulting from a lot of hard work from company’s R&D divisions. Taking that into account we need to create some incentives to get these R&D divisions of these companies developing new technologies. Only then will we see true economic stimulus. Putting people back to work by having the private sector put the money on the streets, and not the government, is the most efficient way to achieve economic stimulus.

      I understand that critics are going to blame private industry and/or Wall Street for this current situation but let’s look at what the government has done so far. We have given taxpayer dollars to companies that have proven to be a failure. Can you imagine that? Taking money from the citizens and successful companies and giving it to companies that have been proven to be a failure! How American can sit by and watch this without total disgust is unforgivable. “We the People”, sat back in the last election and allowed a candidate to redefine what a small business was, he said a small business was defined as earning $250,000 per year or less. I disagree completely, that is a micro business. I had always believed that a small business was a company with less than one hundred employees, but did anyone challenge the candidate on that notion? No! “We the people” need to find a voice here soon otherwise the economic stimulus may be the economic ruin of a once prosperous nation.

     I believe the current administrations goal is to have everyone working for the government. We have had a huge increase in the number of government employees just since this administration come into office. An example of that is the number of czars appointed and they all have office staffs. From the Bureau of Labor Statistics we can see that about 22 million people work for federal, state and local government, which is about 14% of the work force. Which by the way exceeds the number of employed in manufacturing and production jobs in this country. How many more people can the US government employ? Well if we take over the health insurance industry we can expect to gain another 2-3 million government jobs because that is how many are currently working for private health insurance companies as of 2006. If we get Cap and Trade forced upon us we can expect another 3-5 million federal and state employees to develop, run and enforce this program. Is this really stimulus? Is this really sustainable? None of the government jobs create revenue; they confiscate revenue from the private sector. The private sector is being taxed to a point which it may not survive, tax revenues are dropping at a record pace as unemployment increases. Government is continuing to spend with no regards to the damage that is being done and now we are going to be voting on the Obama care and Cap and Trade, are we really getting economic stimulus or economic disaster?

Privilege's and Rights

 

Privileges are rights granted to us by the states, such as driving, hunting or fishing and the state passes laws to regulate these privileges. Rights are granted to us by the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments of the United States Constitution. Every state has laws or regulations that establish age and other criteria so that one can drive a motor vehicle in the state that you reside in . As you drive throughout the United States you see different maximum speed limits, different rules regarding vehicle inspections, insurance coverage etc. However once you obtain a driver’s license in one state you have complete access to drive your vehicle through any state in the union, no questions asked. It is amazing such a privilege and nowhere in the United States Bill of Rights do you see anything about driving a car in the United States. Did you know that over the past five years there have been over 207,000 deaths (from FARS) nationwide on our highways? That is an average of over 41,000 deaths per year on our highway just to have a privilege to drive. Is congress concerned over these numbers at all? I do not see any bills in congress addressing this.

On July 2oth 2009 Senator John Thune introduced a bill to the United States Senate that would allow law abiding citizens that have concealed weapon permits in their home state to have the RIGHT that was granted to us by the United States Bill of Rights, the second amendment, to legally carry their weapon throughout any state in the continental United States. We are not talking about a privilege; we are talking about a RIGHT, which was just reinforced by the Supreme Court on June 27th 2008 in the case of District of Columbia v Heller. We are not talking about the ability of criminals to carry weapons across state lines, because criminals are already doing that. We are talking about law abiding citizens that have most likely taken a course in gun safety, and for me I have been photographed, finger printed and paid for a concealed weapons permit, and legally purchased a firearm and filed the necessary paperwork with the state. So once again I remind you that we are talking about a right under the constitution, and not a privilege controlled by the states. Furthermore if you look at the accidental gun fatalities, from 2002-2006 another five year period we have only 3,572 deaths, (unfortunately that is the most current information available) that is less than any one year for driving fatalities for having a privilege. From Human Rights Watch, the number of all crimes, not deaths, committed by citizens with legally owned firearms is so minute it hardly shows up, we are talking about 1 in 140,000 or .0007% per year. There are approximately 70million gun owners, and that number has probably increased since this new administration has taken office, owning approximately 200million firearms. It is blatantly obvious that a vast majority of crimes and deaths are committed with illegally owned firearms and not legally owned firearms. There are more laws being made, and actions being taken to control the legally owned weapons than trying to control the real problem of illegally owned weapons. If you want to fix the problem try starting with the criminals and not the law abiding citizens. When I see injustices as this I wonder maybe we need to rename our country because I really fail to see that “United” part of the United States.
